In joint second place is Metalube Holdings, which shortlisted for Insider’s International Trade Awards, with winners announced on 4 December.
The Manchester-based manufacturer of specialist industrial lubricants exports 95 per cent of its production to over 100 countries worldwide. Established in 1988, the company is headquartered in Irlam, where it has a fully integrated lubricant manufacturing facility and state-of-the-art laboratories. Research and development is key to the business. The company is constantly investing in the Meta-lube Technology Centre, ensuring technical excellence and innovation across its entire range of products and services.
Metalube says: “The secret to our continued success over the past 35 years has been to continually develop our product range and market focus. This process does not change year on year, and our business has grown each year for the past 35 years. We operate in a technically demanding marketplace and engineers are generally very reluctant to change unless they absolutely need to. Gaining trust and understanding needs are a vitally important part of our sales process. We trade with many large international companies, but the stand-out success last year was with Kronospan in Europe.”
It adds: “Our competitors are mostly much bigger, more corporate organisations. Metalube Group prides itself on being agile and fast-paced commercially but offering extremely high-performance lubricants which provide demonstrable benefits to the end user. When combined with our approach to sales and after-sales, where we use our local staff who are located in all the key strategic regions around the world, this is proving to be a successful combination.”
